Bodyboarding’s 2018 competition season is imminent.
Things kick off in a mere two weeks time with the Inverted QLD State titles presented by Pride Bodyboards sounding the siren at the first stop of the titles – the Sunshine Coast. A massive opportunity for any budding underground bodyboarder’s to throw their name in the hat and challenge the best on the playing field. State titles are Queensland’s premier event in determining a national squad to take on the rest of Australia at the National Bodyboarding Titles later in the year.

As per the 2018 Surfing Aus rule book, allocations for the National Australian titles will have 4 competitors qualify in Open Men’s, Junior Men’s and Cadets. 3 competitors qualify in Open Men Drop Knee. 2 competitors in Grand Master’s, Master’s and Grommet’s. And finally, 1 competitor in Open Women.
State titles are the ultimate way to progress as a bodyboarder. Push yourself, meet new people and surf outside of your comfort zone. Sign up for all competitors is available HERE, although spots normally remain somewhat limited as the event dates near.

Coinciding with State Titles sign is sign on to local clubs – undeniably the best way to push yourself in the bodyboarding world.
Local clubs represent and push grass roots bodyboarding, allowing riders to improve and associate with riders of similar or higher calibre. Sunshine Coast Bodyboard Club are holding their sign on over the 28th of this month, which is this coming Sunday. Cruise down to Inverted Sunshine Coast for further information and to sign up. Indulge in the sausage sizzle and get to know the lovely folk who’ve been backing the club to make it what it is today. If you’re unable to get down to the sign on day you can always sign on online via the URL HERE.
Meanwhile Gold Coast Bodyboard Club don’t have a sign on day as such, but do have sign on available online HERE. Gold Coast Bodyboard Club much like the Sunshine Coast have played home to some of the best bodyboarders in the world over the period of their existence. They continue now to push riders to their maximum potential in a competitive environment. Feel free to email them for any further inquiries at firstname.lastname@example.org. With what promises to be another big year in competitive bodyboarding on the Gold Coast we recommend getting in asap before all places fill up.
