I’m currently riding a 40″. I find the bigger the board the more you can maintain, whereas the smaller that board the more sharper your surfing is. When it comes to those bigger reef sessions I normally ride a Dave Winchester ISS Quad Concave to gain speed and clear barrels or boost end bowls. Although for most conditions at the moment I’m just using my Dave Winchester PP core. I find the PP core lasts the longest as well as it being the most comfortable ride.
My board now has a surlyn slick, stock contours, crescent clipped and CNC nose bulbs, I find it without a doubt the most comfortable ride. The best thing about the shape is that it stretches across the entire range, from NRG to PP to ProRide then to parabolic and WiFly’s.
1.9lb PP (Polypropylene), 1 x Carbon Fibre, 55/45 Double Rails, Graduated Channels, Surlyn Slick, Wavecushion Air 8lb PE, Crescent Tail, Winchester Contours, MESH, CNC Shaped and Nose Bulbs.
